RMIT's NextFest

Traditionally, RMIT Open Day is a significant in-person event in the university's calendar, with its program geared to present prospective students with the impressive benefits of studying at RMIT. Yet with another Covid lockdown looming, a last-minute shift to an online program would demand some swift and fearless creativity. 

 

Cyclone was engaged to develop a distinct name and visual identity for the virtual event, one that stood out in the market and was uniquely RMIT – leading to the creation of NextFest. In both look and feel, RMIT wanted us to turn this event on its head and re-shape the way it was discussed and perceived – allowing us free-range creativity and the chance to flex some timely modern, progressive thinking. 

 

Moving beyond a traditional 'infomercial event', we reimagined the concept of what open day is about and what it could be – conceiving a dynamic and interactive hybrid festival of ideas that could further illustrate the cutting-edge future for students choosing RMIT. 

 

Armed with this brand-new framework, NextFest offered students a relevant and dynamic virtual experience, alongside a firsthand and memorable impression of the university's forward-thinking approach.
